Meet the Artist: Nataša Milenović

For Nataša Milenović, the patterns, textures, and transformations found in living things provide endless inspiration.

Working predominantly with copper, brass, and silver, Nataša uses traditional hand fabrication techniques to translate forms and structures from the natural world into metal. Industrial surplus materials are often given new life through a slow, intuitive process that allows the material itself to help shape the finished work.

Patinas are also central to her practice. Through chemical processes that alter the colour and surface of metal, Nataša explores ideas of time, transformation and impermanence – and the fascinating relationship between cause and effect.
