Come along for a fun-filled school holiday workshop with artist Christina Graham and discover the colourful, curious world of fungi!

We’ll start in the Gallery, where we’ll explore our wonderful exhibition Big Small Worlds and find inspiration in the amazing shapes, colours and tiny details within. Then it’s time to get creative in Studio One, where Christina will show you some easy and fun watercolour techniques to help you create your very own fungi-inspired artwork.

And the fun doesn’t have to stop when you go home! A selection of the art supplies used in the workshop will be available to purchase on the day, so you can keep experimenting at home.

Christina Graham is a lutruwita/Tasmanian artist and illustrator. Strongly drawn to the documentation of natural occurrences and drawn to an exploration of the space between people, nature and bodies of land. Inspired by her island home, its unique environment and wild places, Christina intricately paints the flora and fauna this inspires. Christina is a traditional artist, working with watercolour, gouache and ink.

1pm session suitable for participants aged 8 – 15

Lab coats will be provided but please wear clothes that can get a bit dirty, just in case.

This workshop will take place at Hive’s Studio One. Parents and caregivers are not required to attend this workshop; however, you are welcome to stay or enjoy Hive’s cafe space.
