Have you ever considered representing your community?
With local government elections coming up in 2026, Central Coast Council is inviting people who care about the future of our community to learn more about what it means to stand for Council.
Councillors play an important role in representing the community, setting Council’s strategic direction, adopting plans and budgets, and making decisions at Council meetings.
Council is hosting two Candidate Information Sessions on Wednesday 5 August 2026 for people who are thinking about running as a candidate (nominating).
Hosted by CEO Vicki Brereton, the sessions will provide a practical overview of the role of a Councillor, how Council meetings and decision-making work, the relationship between Councillors and Council staff, and more.
