Hi everyone, we’ve got some exciting news to share with our community of officials.
As we continue to work hard on ensuring the future success of Targa Tasmania, we are excited to introduce Targa Trofeo: a brand new event that will run alongside the first three days of Targa Tasmania from 18 – 20 November, 2026.
A new version of the previously successful Rookie Rallye that many of you will remember - Targa Trofeo is designed to be a "gateway" for new competitors and tour participants, and a streamlined option for those who can’t commit to the full event. It features the same regulations and competition structure you’re all familiar with, just in a more compact format finishing in Launceston.

We wanted to make sure you were the first to know about this exciting new addition to the Targa family. We will share further details with you all soon on how this event will affect official rosters and roles.
Thanks for your ongoing support!
Targa Tasmania has announced the launch of an exciting new three-day event format for 2026, Targa Trofeo. Designed as an “event within an event,” Targa Trofeo will run during the opening three days of Targa Tasmania and conclude with a ceremonial finish in Launceston on 20 November.
Created to make tarmac rallying more accessible, Targa Trofeo is open to all competitors and tour participants, offering the same regulations and competition structure as Targa Tasmania while featuring its own trophies, number plates, branding and dedicated Targa Tour. The event replaces the former Rookie Rallye and provides an ideal entry point for first-time participants, those returning to the sport, or crews seeking a shorter and more affordable rally experience.
The route will cover more than 200 kilometres of closed-road competition across 24 iconic Targa stages, including Cethana, The Sideling, Elephant Pass and Symmons Plains Raceway.
Entry fees have been significantly reduced, with Early Bird pricing available until 30 June. Competitors will also have the chance to win free entry into the 2027 Targa Tasmania, including one outright competition prize and two lucky draw entries for participating crews.
