Join Petra Wilden (Regional Weeds Coordinator, Cradle Coast NRM) and Russell Horton from Wilmot Willow Busters for a hands-on working bee tackling invasive willows along the Leven River. Participants will learn about willow treatment, riverbank stabilisation and native revegetation.
While this is a separate workshop and not a Cradle Coast NRM event organised by Petra, NRM staff are welcome to attend. Facilitated by Axel Meiss, the workshop will cover field identification of serrated tussock and other weedy grasses, along with practical manual management techniques.
Date: Monday, 26 October 2026
Time: 9am-12pm
Meeting point: Minna Road, Heybridge
Parking: In front of Burnie Transport Hub
Please bring a mattock if you would like to participate in the practical activities.
