Come learn to paddle kayak slalom this summer at Forth Tasmania! We have available spots in our coached junior ‘Slalom Scorchers’ program for children aged 9-12, no experience needed. All equipment provided (kayak, lifejacket, helmet and paddle), all you need is swimwear, a towel, and shoes. The first 4 sessions are at the Ulverstone pool, to learn the basics. All following sessions are at Forth Kayak Club on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
Price includes all coached sessions, equipment hire and pool entry.
Pool sessions October 12th, 19th, 26th, 4-5pm and Nov 2 5-6pm.
First complete a club membership and then purchase ticket for event to reserve spots.

Pool sessions - Arrive early bring bathers, swimming goggles and perhaps a nose peg, arrive early to set up gear.
River sessions at Forth - Group activities and instruction starting on flatwater and progressing to moving water and whitewater as skills develop. A mix of games, skills and competition. Sessions in kayaks, and raft. Bring warm gear to wear in the water - (thermals, and or woolen jumper and socks, and spray jacket, wet suit also suitable). You will also need footwear for walking on the rocks and in the water - something that stays on your feet (old sandshoes are good). The club will supply a helmet, lifejacket, paddle, deck and kayak as part of the ticket price. Sundays 4-5pm at Forth.
Second paddle sessions - at Forth on Thursdays, more casual learning on moving water.
Coaches are qualified and have Working With Vulnerable People approval.
Parents can help at sessions setting and packing up, scoring. Parents will also be able paddle with assistance and advice from club members (membership required for insurance).
