Penguin Christmas Parade 2026

The Lions Club of Penguin invites you to take part in our annual Christmas parade.

WHERE AND WHEN

  • Date: Friday 4th December 2026

  • Assembly time: 5 to 6.30 p.m.

  • Assembly place: Johnson’s Beach Road (western end of Main Street)

  • Parade starts 7.00 p.m.


PRIZE DETAILS
The following prizes will be judged while the parade is in progress:

  • Best decorated float 1st $150, 2nd $ 75, 3rd $ 50

  • Best costume & participation 1st $70, 2nd $ 50, 3rd $ 30

  • Individual with the “Christmas Spirit” 1st $50

  • Best dressed Penguin 1st $50

  • Best decorated shop window 1st $100

ENTRY/REGISTRATION FORM

IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE 

  • The Lions Club will provide Santa, no other Santa’s on floats or walking. 

  • All floats are to have a Christmas theme and are to be safe for use in a public place, the parade marshal will have final authority on any safety requirements or modifications on the day. 

  • Must have adult supervision and a rope barrier/fall perimeter when participants are riding on floats.

  • Floats must not be assembled/decorated in the assembly area, float setup and decorating can be done at the Penguin Surf Club or on Crescent Street if space is available. 

  • Please include signage on your float to identify your group or organisation 

  • No alcohol or drugs on floats or at the Parade 

  • Registrations can be sent to penguin@lionstasmaia.org

  • Please bring a copy of your registration to the parade marshal at the assembly point or registration can be on the night. 

  • NO ITEMS INCLUDING LOLLIES ARE TO BE THROWN FROM FLOATS, anyone seen throwing items will be disqualified from prizes and maybe asked to leave their float. If you wish to give out sweets or promotional items during the parade, arrange for walkers on either side of your float. 

  • The selling of raffle tickets is not allowed 

  • KEEP OUR TOWN TIDY and take away all rubbish, this includes all items used to create floats, any food or drinks wrappers, cans or bottles.
