All About Bats Slide show

All About Bats – The Friends of Reid Street Reserve invite you to discover more about bats. Join Bat Specialist, Lisa Cawthen, who will come equipped with bat detecting gear to show you these amazing little flying mammals by torch light. There will be two sessions: an indoor slideshow followed by an on-site survey at the Reid Street Reserve. You may attend either one or both. FREE. Slideshow: 4.15pm (1 hour) Ulverstone Showgrounds (venue details when you book). Survey: 5.45pm (1-2 hours) at Reid Street Reserve, West Ulverstone. Bookings are essential. Numbers are limited for the survey. Contact Patricia Ellison pellison@iinet.net.au or Sonya 0418 997 083. The slide show will introduce you to the life history of bats and why they are important to ecosystems, with lots of great photos and information about these amazing creatures. The on-site bat survey will be conducted at the Reid Street Reserve. Dress warmly – we’ll be out looking for bats in the Reserve using bat detectors. This event will be postponed if the weather is unsuitable – i.e. rain or wind.
