Like to know more about U3A?

Come to a Free information session to hear how you can be involved.

U3A stands for University of the Third Age.  A U3A is a volunteer co-operative of older people who share many educational, creative and leisure activities.  No educational qualifications are required or given.  Come along and find out what's possible for a U3A in Central Coast.

Venue Gnomon Room, 3 Wharf Road, Ulverstone.  For more information contact Melissa Budgeon, Central Coast Council Community Wellbeing Officer, phone 6429 8900.

University of the Third Age (U3A) could be coming to the Central Coast and you are invited to attend a free information session to learn what it's all about, how it works, how it could benefit our older (Third Age) community and how you could get involved.

U3A's operate around the world with around 300 in Australia and now successfully operate in Meander Valley, Port Sorell, Kentish and Wynyard.  They typically exist to provide a broad range of ongoing educational, recreational and social programmes and activities to attract, challenge and involve retired and semi-retired people.  They are self-directed learning co-operatives, run entirely by volunteers and involve people who are willing to share knowledge, skills or just participate in interesting stuff.

The U3A information session will be held in the Gnomon Room at the Ulverstone Wharf on Monday 14th November from 4pm to 5.30pm.  So please come along, bring your friends and learn about U3A and let's see if it could work in our community too.
